Sourcing
Sourcing for better materials
Sourcing consciously and intentionally will never be optional at Miilo, it is a must. When looking for apparels, materials and fabrics, we dedicate time to find the perfect matches to our needs. We compare and evaluate our options and select from sources we know can be trusted.
We take these steps to honour our responsibilities and our commitements to our clients, to provide them with modern embroidered clothing that matches their expectations and reflects their values.

Production
Behind Miilo studio’s door -where the Magic happens
Located in the Estonian capital, Tallinn, the studio is the place where we we draw, erase, color, sew, assemble, stitch and embroider on the garments. The embroidery machine is the heart of it all and the people behind it, its lungs.
Every design is created from scratch, drawn and digitized by hand. Every garment prepared and stitched one at a time. The studio is a place for creativity and expression, where collections expand, custom projects come to life, and ideas flourish into something real and wearable.
Many steps go into embroidering a t-shirt, a hoodie, or a sweatshirt. From design to hooping a garment onto the machine and letting it work its way across the fabric.
Daily life in the studio also includes quality check, preparing orders, packing, communicating with partners, clients, and community; and yes, some administrative tasks too.
When producing, we work small batches first over quantity, a few sizes of one design, to control the quality of our clothing, avoid unnecessary waste, swift towards made-to-orders, and better management of our stock.
We also work with more limited editions to reinforce uniqueness and authenticity, and to give every piece of clothing the time and attention it deserves!
We think the embroidery through to maximize the use of materials, to avoid waste, to lower the costs, and to shrink your environmental footprint. We keep, reuse and recycle the waste of the production, such as backup layers, or leftovers of threads.
We care for our people, the length of their day, their needs, the atmosphere in the studio and their wellbeing. We work ethically, with respect for all and we support mental and physical health.
We make sure that everything that can be digitized stay that way, to avoid printing and energy consumption that aren’t needed.
On the top of all this, we treat our mission, products, people and community with love, passion, care and attention. We are far from perfect, but we are working on it more everyday.
Packaging
Our packaging is circular by design and chosen to minimise our environmental impact without compromising on protection or resistance during transportation.
We have replaced all plastic packaging with alternatives that are plastic-free, made from 100% paper, recycled fibers, and fully recyclable.
We source our packaging locally in Estonia, reducing transport emissions and keeping our footprint as small as possible. And while eco-friendly, our solution still provide solid protection against dust, scratches, and moisture.
Where paper is used, we make sure it comes from responsibly managed forests and carries the certifications FSC to prove it. We keep our packaging minimalist, to avoid unnecessary material, and reduce the shipment size to the items'.
We are driven by the desire to do better and act better, therefore and like everything at Miilo, our sourcing, production and packaging are a work in progress: we will always look for new partners sharing our values, and better solutions as they become available.
Our mission stays the same, but our actions will grow, and so will our commitment.
